A Message from the Co-Presidents

Helloǃ

As the Co-Presidents for the 2024-25 academic year, we are delighted to introduce ourselves. Fallon Gervais is a fourth-year Political Studies and History student, and Mae Sacamay is a third-year student pursuing Linguistics and Employment Relations.

Fallon first engaged with WIIS-Queen’s by attending the 2023 annual conference, which left a profound impression on her. Motivated by that experience, she became the 2023-24 Mentorship Director and has now progressed to the role of Co-President. Her interest in international security has been a significant motivating factor in her involvement with WIIS, and she aims to build a career in this field as a policy analyst. Mae became involved with WIIS-Queen’s in her first year as a general member and quickly aspired to take on more responsibilities. She became an Outreach Coordinator in her second year and served as the Outreach Director during the winter semester while the acting director was studying abroad. Mae is dedicated to advocating against domestic violence targeting women and aims to promote justice and empowerment for vulnerable women, striving to create a safer, more inclusive world.

We are deeply honoured to serve as this year's Co-Presidents and are immensely thankful to our dedicated team of hardworking individuals.

The WIIS-Queen’s team has been diligently preparing for a busy year ahead. We are currently organizing our annual conference, scheduled for March 2nd, 2025—please save the date! Additionally, we are excited to launch this year’s mentorship program, for which general members are now welcome to applyǃ

We wish everyone the best of luck for the upcoming year and encourage you to stay healthy and safe. We look forward to an amazing year ahead with our fantastic team.

Thank you,

Fallon & Mae
